Featured on National Geographic Travelers Magazine, Supernovas Steel Orchestra is one of Trinidad and Tobago's most dynamic Steel Orchestras, known for their eclectic repertoire of music that comprise of many genres of music which include Latin, calypso, reggae, pop, chutney, jazz and classical.
Inspired by their most revered son of the Soil, Dr. Jit Samaroo; The band was formed by members of the community of Surrey Village in 2010. Under the leadership of Amrit Samaroo and management of Anthony Samaroo, "the little band that can" has competed consistently at a high level in the Small Band Category of the National Panorama for four years, winning the title in 2014.
They once again impressed in 2015, placing second at the International Conference and Panorama. This all lead to their Breakthrough performance at Panorama 2016, where the First Citizens Supernovas signaled their arrival to the Large band Category with…
